Thank You

Success

Awesome SUCCESS!!

Now you can post your own emergency contacts through a link on our website, or directly to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

If you are subsequently involved in an accident, officers will have immediate access to YOUR list of emergency contacts. They will scan your driver's license and gain immediate, but secure, access to their database and your information. Your decision to  provide this information is voluntary.

All of our hard work is bearing fruit.  This first program is becoming a reality through the help of State Representative Bill Galvano and, Florida Department of Highway Public Safety Legislative Affairs Director Steven Fielder. We expect that our petition drive will result in an actual legislative act this coming session. Our next goal to have our program included in planning for a national driver's license format.

Petitioning For Change

After the night Tiffiany was killed, I was so upset that it took so long to be notified. How is this possible in this day and age of computers and information. Something Had to be done!!!

I started with a petition drawn up for me by a friend and made copies. I bought a purple folder for obvious reasons (Tiff was all about purple), and went out to share my story.

Everyday I took that folder with me to work, or wherever else I went. People were shocked to hear that the national average, as confirmed by the Association of  Emergency Medicine, is six hours.  I notified the newspapers. television and whatever government agency I could think of asking for help and leads. This led me to State Representative Bill Galvano and Steven Fielder  with the Department of Motor Vehicles and Highway Safety in Tallahassee. With some persistence, it was accepted. The goal of  TIFF's Initiative is to improve notification to families by law enforcement throughout the United States.

I cannot stress the urgency of getting your emergency contacts in, as accidents are not planned and happen in the blink of an eye.
